Cuba is a Latin country filled with intense emotions, where feasts and traditions have high importance in everyday life. This time people gather in the streets or at home and dance together, sipping the delicious rum, so celebrate simply. 🙂 Chef Nacho’s team at Los Carballos is trying to commemorate worthily the anniversary of Cuba’s National Holiday the ‘National Revolutionary Festival’ (in Spanish: Movimiento 26 de Julio) with a grand fiesta through the Latin Food Festival.
Latin Food Festival in the spirit of the revolution
July 26 has become the greatest national holiday in Cuba since the victory of the revolution in 1959. On July 26, 1953 when the struggle against the dictatorship of Fulgencio Batista began, a group of young revolutionaries led by Fidel Castro attacked and tried to capture the Moncada Barracks. It was the beginning of a movement that has changed the world forever and sparked the Cuban revolution, which defeated the dictatorship in second attempt by January 1, 1959.
Come and join us in La Bodeguita del Medioba on July 24, 2016 and celebrate the anniversary of the Revolutionary Festival. You can find more information about the detailed program of the Latin Food Festival on the Facebook page of the event.
